Also, fighting the first boss forces lowering the boss' focus (using close combat) before your gunshots can chip away at their health. It's sufficient, but I wouldn't call the options deep. This is not for everyone though, as the tactical variety is limited to 2 ranged attack options, 3-4 close combat options, 2 postures each with movement options. You can see timing of enemies next single action & next single attack, then compare it to your options. With Hex though, time is tracked in tenths of a second. The game does something different with turn based tactics that was reminiscent of Transistor's pseudo-turn based attack queuing. If you are a big fan of franchise or turn combat, you are going to find the story or combat to be somewhat shallow like I did. If you like but are NOT a hardcore fan of either John Wick or turn based strategy games, then this game may be worth a historic low sale or bundle if you like the gameplay videos online.
